In-home physiotherapy is an effective and convenient way to get the help you need in the comfort of your own home.
Home visits are available from our Physiotherapists with Physio2GO
Home physiotherapy care can be helpful following surgery or unexpected injury to help you through the early recovery period. Our physiotherapist will help you learn how to safely use walkers, crutches, and canes in the house and up/down stairs. Appropriate activities and exercises will be reviewed and the physiotherapist will also teach you pain self-management strategies at home.
A home visit from a physiotherapist can also provide you with detailed information regarding the safety and accessibility of your home. The physiotherapist may make suggestions regarding adaptive devices for safety (ie: bathroom safety items) and function (ie: kitchen utensil adaptation); the physiotherapist can also review how and where to access these aids in the community.

What to expect
What can you expect from a physiotherapy home visit?
Firstly, don’t think you’re missing out compared with in-clinic care. We can achieve the same high quality from the comfort of your own home. The physiotherapists are well equipped to bring the clinic to you!
Getting to know you
The first visit will involve chatting with you about what your difficulties and needs are, asking about your health history, and what you’d like to achieve with therapy.
Assessment
A full assessment of the relevant range of motion, strength, balance, mobility and functional level takes place at the first visit, with reassessment during further sessions. Having you at home really helps us see how you cope within your home environment.
Hands-on-help
The physiotherapist will guide you through your exercises, and offer appropriate treatment for pain or mobility issues. This may include soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, heat or cold packs, TENS or ultrasound. The physiotherapist has a plethora of therapeutic tools to bring to you.
Personalized Plan
A personalised treatment plan is created, which may include exercises, stretches and other techniques, to help you achieve your goals. This is appropriately modified and progressed at subsequent visits.
Education
Education is key, with our physiotherapists offering tips and tricks and advice to ensure your path to improvement or recovery is a smooth ride. Feel free to ask questions and share concerns so we can address any worries you may have. Home care is all about making sure you get the care you need in the most convenient way for you!
